Letters from Abu Dis girls to LSU in Camden

My time in the UK

Salam everyone it’s Mosaab Kassab one of the Palestine participants in Ma’an together project with Cadfa (Camden Abu Diss friendship association).
We were hosted by Worcester Palestine Friends group for two days.
After we arrived to the guest house and had some rest we went to Malvern main town and take a tour in the city it was very very beautiful city it was full of nature and we visit an ancient church. 
After that,
we back to the guest house and the people there were so kind they took us in a tour around the area and we played volleyball and trampoline that was so fun.
I forget to till you guys the guest house is amazing it was like dream. After that we had the dinner it was delicious and I like that the people were so kind and we had a good conversation with the all people after that we made a presentation about the life in Palestine and our life as a university student and they were interested about everything we said.
After we finish that we make a small fire in front of the house and we had a lovely night .
The next day we arrived to Worcester university and we were welcomed by Dr Saad Ali and the people of the international relations and after that, we had a tour in Worcester city and the catherdal including the Cathedral Library. and was so beautiful city full of history we visited a library in a church which was one of the best things in the city.

After that we had meetings with Karen from the Letterpress Project - http://www.letterpressproject.co.uk/ - which promotes books and stories about the refugee and Human Rights and it was so helpful.

After that we had meeting with the students of the university organized by Dr Saad we set with the students and we talk to them about the life in Palestine and they told us about their lives and we made a new friends in such a beautiful place that I hope to go there again and again.
And finally I want to thank everyone one help us and make this visit possible to the people of the guest house the people who make us the food the people who ride us and the people how organized everything.

The Twining clubs between Abu Dis and LSU 2018 -2019

 

         I'm a volunteer at "DAR ASSADAQA" Camden Abu Dis Friendship Association, and during a visit to the girls in the school to discuss the possible future activities for the our twining clubs project between Abu Dis Girls School and Camden - LSU, for this year , and to share our ambitions for the twining clubs. While The Abu Dis School for girls with the faculty and students were very welcoming, and are looking forward to work with everyone involved in the twining clubs project. 

Also, they were excited to share with us what the School and the girls have done for the past weeks, as a part of the annual activities for Abu Dis School for Girls. and Were generous to share with us their latest annual activity. 

On Thursday, October 18th, 2018, the school girls with the supervision of the school teacher kefah Arikat, successfully celebrated the International Day for Heritage and The International Day of Elderly Persons in the school theater, with a combination of activities, including singing the traditional songs, recreating the Palestinian traditional wedding, poetry reading, theater acting concerning the current situation in Jerusalem and the Palestinians Prisoners, the girls scout show, and the traditional  Dabkkeh Dance. 

The School informed us that their girls were training for these activities from the start of the school year, and that they are now planning for future annual activities, which the school celebrates on the national and international level for the rest of the year, explaining to us that it's the schools role to help in raising the awareness of students on their basic rights as equal humans with the rest of the world, and towards their part in cultural resistance and building our community. 

مشاركة نادي توأمة طلاب الجامعات في زيارة مشروع معاً الى بريطانيا

انا حسن جمال بدي احكي عن تجربتي بهالمشروع مشروع معا انا من الناس الي شاركوا بالمشروع كامل يعني شاركت بال٣ تبادلات و الي هي كانت اولها بفرنسا و بعدها بفلسطين و بعدها ببريطانيا و بهالمشروع تعلمت كثيير شغلات و علمت و استفدت كثير بمشاركتي بالهمشروع الي عنجد اكثر من رائع بدي احكي بشكل مختصر لانو لو بدي احكي بالتفصيل بدي كثير وقت لاوصل الي انا شفتو و عرفتو و تعلمتو .
كانت اول محطات المشروع هي فرنسا في شهر اكتوبر الماضي و كان الهدف من هاض التبادل ( التمييز العنصري ) انا كنت مفكر لما طلعت ع فرنسا انو احنا بدنا نروح بس نحكيلهم عن النمييز عنا بفلسطين بين المواطن" الاسرائيلي " و الفلسطينيين بحكم انو جدار الفصل العنصري من اكبر طرق التمييز بين الشعب بس لما رحت غاد اكتشفت انو برضو بفرنسا في كثير تمييز عنصري من ناحية لون بشرة او عرق او دين ف كنا نحكي مع الناس الي بالشارع و سمعنا منهم و تعرفنا ع مشاكلهم و عرفنا انو مش بس فلسطين فيها تمييز لا كمان في بفرنسا تمييز و كبير كمان و تعلمت كثير شغلات بهاي السفرة من لغة فرنسية و عاداتهم و ثقافتهم و اسلوب حياتهم يعني كانت كثييير مفيدة بالنسبة الي .

اما المرحلة الثانية كانت بفلسطين و كانت بشهر ايبرل حيث انو جروب من الشباب البريطاني و جروب من الشباب الفرنسي اجو عنا ع فلسطين بهدف ( حقوق الانسا ) عشان يعرفوا اكثر عن فلطسين و الوضع الي فيها و حقوقنا الي مسلوبة منا عشان يعرفوها اكثر و يتعمقو فيها لانو ع ارض الواقع يكون اوضح من الحكي و لما اجول هان شافوا و تعرفوا ع فلسطين و مشاكلها و شافوا بعينهم شو بصير مع الشعب الفلسطيني من انتهاكات و مجازر بحقنا كشعب و عنجد كثير انبسطنا بجيتهم حتى اني حسيت حالي اني مسافر من بلدي و علمناهم ثقافتنا و بعض شعبياتنا و لغتنا و كانت ايام عنجد رائعة و كنت اتمنى لو انو الفترة لطول عشان يعرفو اكثر و اكثر عن فلسطين و انتهاكات الاحتلال

المرحلة الثالثة من المشروع كانت في بريطانيا و كانت في شهر سيبتمبر الماضي حيث انو كان الهدف من التبادل (التحدث مع الناس ) و بما انو الهدف منو الحكي مع الناس و السماع منهم و انهم يسمعول منا كانت في عنا كثير من الاجتماعات مع ناس من بريطانيا كانوا يسالونا عن حياتنا و عن الوضع عنا و كانت اسئلتهم بتدل ع انهم مهتمين بالقضية الفلسطينية و من الشغلات الي اكتسبتها هناك انو تعرفت ع ناس جداد و تقويت باللغة الانجليزية اكثر و صار عندي القدرة في اني ادخل بناقاشات و اعبر عن رايي بكل سهولة و سلاسة و اني اوقف كدام الناس بغض النظر عن اعمارهم او عدد و احكي عن قضيتي و حياتي بكل فخر كدام الناس و هاض اشي كثيير رائع ، بس كان انو في بعض المشاكل بانو ما في وقت كفاية انو نروح و نتعرف ع البلد اكثر و ع معالمها السياحية و الترفيهية لانو كان في عنا مشروع و كان عنا كثير شغل و عنا التزامات لازم نخلصها بس ان شاء الله بالمرات القادمة بصحلي الشرف اني ازورها كمان مرة و اتعرف اكثر ع الناس الي هناك و ع حياتهم و عن البلد نفسها .

و في النهاية بحب اشكر كل من ساهم في انجاح المشروع و بحب اشكر كل من وقف معنا و كان معنا في رحلتي سواء من فرنسا او من بريطانيا لانهم عنجد ما قصرو و عملو كل اشي بقدرو عليه عشان تكون رحلتنا حلوة و بشكر ارازمس بلس و كادفا و كامدن ابوديس بالاخص الي سمحتلي اني اكون واحد من هاض المشروع العنجد اكثر من رائع و شكر خااااص طبعا للقائد عبد الوهاب صباح و امنا و معلمتنا و قائدتنا ننديتا الي كانت رائعة بكل ما تحمله الكلمة من معنا ووبشكرهم ع وقفتهم معنا و قوتهم و قدرتهم و حكمتهم على انجاح هاض المشروع الي عنجد اكثر من رائع و بتمنالكم التوفيق في القادم ان شاء الله
بكفي والله تعبت عليه😂

JUST KEEP SWIMMING!

Today was the last day of the camp before the big celebration on Saturday and we spent it out on a trip to a swimming pool in Beir Zeit. We took the kids and some local parents to the club and had a lovely day in the sun. The kids really enjoyed it, alot of them practicing and learning how to swim. We had lunch there, donated kindly and generously by the shop below dar assadaqa, a selected of salamis, bread and juice, more than enough to keep us going throughout the day.

After we finished with the swimming us volunteers were lucky enough to see a comedy show in a hotel in ramallah, starring Amer Zahr. We did a little bit it shipping before hand and of course went to eat then to have our daily knafeh (it's becoming a bit of a tradition among us).
Over all a very nice day and a lovely way to end the camp.

مخيم صيفي للشباب 2018

·       مع نهاية تموز استقبال مجموعة من المتطوعات وتنظيم المخيم الصيفي السنوي لدار الصداقة والذي شمل العديد من الفعاليات الترفيهية والتعليمية بحضور ثلاث متطوعات من كامدن وبمشاركة 20 طفل ومجموعة من المتطوعين المحليين حيث استمر المخيم حتى يوم وقفة العيد كانت هناك العديد النشاطات والزيارات الميدانية لمصانع محلية وجامعة القدس ومقر الدفاع المدني بالاضافة الى الرحلات الترفيهية الى مسابح في بيرزيت وحدائق عامة في الموقع ويعتبر هذا المخيم السنوي رقم 13 الذي تنظمة دار الصداقة منذ العام 2006 حيث تحرص دار الصداقة وجمعية صداقة كامدن ابوديس

على استقدام المتطوعين من كامدن للعمل في كل صيف مع مجموعات أطفال وطلاب مدارس من فئات عمرية مختلفة، هذا العام تميز المشاركون بصغر سنهم كمان وتمتعت متطوعاتنا من بريطانيا بمهارات متنوعه رياضية وفنية بالإضافة الى الدارمة والتعليم اللامنهجي وقد عملت على مدار الثلاث أسابيع عمر المخيم على توفير كل سبل البهجة والمتعه لمن شارك من أطفالنا، فيما ساهمن في تفعيل دور اللجنة النسوية التابعة لدار الصداقة من خلال عملهن مع مجموعة نسوية للمساعدة في تقوية لغتين الانجليزية.

·       كذلك خلال شهر آب عقدت دار الصداقة ورشة عمل للميديا والتصوير السينمائي في بحضور منسق بيتساليم وادارة من مخرجة فلسطينية حيفاوية استمر الورشة لمدة اربع ساعات وقد حضرها طاقم المتطوعين الشباب  في دار الصداقة

زيارة مشروع معا لفلسطين

وضمن فعاليات مشروع معاً للتبادل الشبابي حضر الى فلسطين مجموعتين شبابيتين من بريطانيا وفرنسا في تبادل استمر كذلك لعشر أيام شارك فيه أكثر من 30 شاب وشابة  حيث تم تنظيم العديد من الفعاليات والجولات الميدانية في مختلف محافظات الضفة الغربية ومدينة القدس المحتلة، فيما حل الزوار ضيوفا على مؤسسات شبابية مختلفة في القدس ومدينة بيت لحم ورام الله واريحا التي كانت محطتهم الاولى في التبادل من خلال الاستضافة الكريمة للمجلس الأعلى للشباب والرياضة في مدينة الأمل الشبابية نهاية الأسبوع الأول من الزيارة.

Dar Assadaqa youth activities - A special day out -

Last week I visited Dar Assadaqa in Abu Dis with my friend Mays, both of us are students at Alquds University and interested to become volunteers for Dar Assadaqa, we met with Ali and Hassan to of the youth leaders at DS who introduce us about what things and activities they are doing with the young people at the place and they expanded the need of communication and outreach with the partner in Camden using the social media, blogs and other mean to be apple to send a clear message about the life of youth in Palestine and what they are facing under the Israeli occupation. The activities we will be carrying out as volunteers are to disseminate information about the Palestinian cause, the events and problems that occur inside the country on CADFA youth Blog. Through our conversation with them, we became aware of what they are doing. These activities include teaching schoolchildren to protect themselves when confrontations occur between the Palestinian side and the Israeli side.

Ali and Hassan added  that the confrontations occur a lot in the area of Abu Dis, so it is their duty as residents of this town to teach children what to do when confrontations They also teach them first-aid highways when there are fainting or injuries And also in spite of the tragedy that we live as a Palestinian people, but this does not prevent us from going on trips in our country Palestine and making the town's children happy These images confirm the events taking place in Dar Assadaqa center.

Other activities by Ali and Hassan is Dabkeh, drama and work on the films of recording ,These activities have attracted a great deal of interest, with a total of thirty participants and volunteers The most important activities are recreational trips by virtue of the pressure experienced by the Palestinian people, as well as the participants and volunteers in Palestinian places
